Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect.
Last updated: March 2026 · Effective immediately
Summary — Plain English
TabVault stores everything on your own device. We do not collect your browsing data, and we do not sell your data. TabVault is completely free and makes no external network requests to any server we operate.
1. Who We Are
TabVault is a Chrome browser extension developed by Muhammad Saad Ali, an independent software developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the TabVault extension and this website.
2. What Data TabVault Stores
TabVault stores the following data exclusively on your local device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API: • Saved tab states — URLs, scroll positions, video timestamps, page titles, favicons • Category names and their associated saved tabs • Storage usage statistics This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server operated by us.
3. What Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit: • Your browsing history • The content of web pages you visit • Personal identification information • Usage analytics or telemetry • Crash reports • Device identifiers • Location data TabVault has no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party data collection of any kind.
4. This Website
This website (extension.craftlykit.com) is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited as part of normal hosting operations.
5. Advertising and Cookies
This website may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. These cookies are set by Google, not by TabVault, and do not have access to the tab data stored by the Extension. You can learn more about how Google uses this data, and how to opt out of personalized advertising, at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
6. Chrome Permissions
TabVault requests the following Chrome permissions: • tabs — to read the current tab's URL and title for saving • storage — to save your tab states locally on your device • scripting — to read scroll position and video timestamp from pages • host_permissions — required to inject the capture script into any page you choose to save We use these permissions only for the core functionality of saving and restoring tab states.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your saved tab data is retained on your device until you delete it manually within the Extension, or until you uninstall the Extension. Uninstalling TabVault from Chrome removes all locally stored data. We have no copy of your data and cannot recover it after deletion.
8. Children's Privacy
TabVault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
